  1. Jul 3, 2020 · These are, in my opinion, his nine worst books, and my explanation for why I still love them. 1. "Gwendys Button Box". This is the first of a couple collaborations on this list, which may speak to a personal bias on my part. It is quite short by King standards, which maybe should be a positive.

    • Rose Madder. This final entry to the list seems a straight up departure for King as he draws inspiration from Greek mythology. Particularly the maze and the minotaur.
    • Joyland. Joyland is a coming-of-age story combined with a fated ghost story that eventually misses its mark. The protagonist Devin takes up a summer job at a carnival.
    • Blaze. Printed under Richard Bachman, Blaze is one of the shorter King stories. The main protagonist, Clatyon Blaisdell Jr. Aka Blaze, is a man who suffers from a mental handicap but gifted with prodigious physical strength.
    • Geralds Game. A sex game gone wrong; Geralds Game sees Jessie Burlingame and her husband Gerald travel to a secluded cabin in the woods for an impromptu sex-capade.

    • Bag Of Bones. September 1998. After author Mike Noonan's pregnant wife unexpectedly dies, he is sent into a state of writer's block that he is desperate to break free from.
    • Roadwork. March 1981. A Richard Bachman book, Roadwork tells the story of Barton George Dawes. While grieving over the loss of his child and divorce, he delves further into mental instability with the news that he will be left homeless and jobless as an interstate makes its way through his Midwestern town.
    • The Dark Tower (Dark Tower Book #7) September 2004. The Dark Tower's seventh installment and the final chapter of the story, The Dark Tower, features Stephen King as a secondary character.
    • Blaze. June 2007. Clayton "Blaze" Blaisdell Jr. is a con artist who plans on kidnapping a wealthy man's son in hopes of making his partner in crime proud.
  2. Title says it all, we talk about the best, buts let’s talk about the worst SK books. For me “Rage” is the worst not because of the subject, but because it was written so poorly. I should have stayed in his high school journal lol. My main issue was the characters and their idiotic nature.

  3. This week, Stephen King releases his latest novel, Mr. Mercedes. It is his 65th book, if you count novels, nonfiction, and short-story collections, and we are using its publication as an excuse...

  6. Sep 26, 2012 · The Green Mile is a darker story, but does not quite reach horror levels (full disclosure: there is one brutal scene so potential reader beware). For those who think they might enjoy “traditional” Stephen King: Three of his best works are The Stand, It, and Bag of Bones.
