Saving the best for last, few animated series can compete with "Adventure Time." Spanning nine seasons and winning eight Primetime Emmys, the show follows 12-year old Finn and Jake, his magical talking dog.
- The Powerpuff Girls. "The Powerpuff Girls" broke ground, in the process becoming an animation touchstone. Made with sugar, spice, and everything nice — as well as bright, vivid animation, an infectious style and three little girls at the center who you can't help but root for, this McCracken masterpiece became a cultural phenomenon.
- Samurai Jack. Often ranked among the best cartoon series of all time, "Samurai Jack" was the sort of beautifully animated, intensely deep melodrama that could only come from the visionary Genndy Tartakovsky.
- Courage the Cowardly Dog. Speaking of content that leans towards the mature, "Courage the Cowardly Dog" is another animated series that never felt like it was made for kids — even if many kids were watching.

Cartoon Network's Toonami
The series that appeared on Cartoon Network's Toonami block from March 17, 1997 to September 20, 2008. Note: The dates under "End Date" are the last time the series appeared on Toonami or Toonami's Midnight Run. Some series had multiple runs that were not always consecutive.
Ed, Edd n Eddy is, so far, the longest-running Cartoon Network series.
Robotomy and Sunday Pants tie for the shortest-running Cartoon Network series in terms of episode count, with ten episodes respectively.
So far, Elliott from Earth is the shortest-running Cartoon Network series. The series premiered sixteen episodes over 11 days before it ended. The departure of showrunner Guillaume Cassuto in 2019 may have played a part in this fact.
Over the Garden Wall and Long Live the Royals, despite having even shorter runs, are considered miniseries and therefore do not count.
To give you an idea of how insanely long some Cartoon Network shows are, Cartoon Planet (A Variety Show)'s episode count is way bigger than Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House COMBINED (111 Disney Episodes vs 146 Cartoon Planet Eps)...so yeah, pretty big.
