Feb 4, 2023 · When do graduation ceremonies take place in the UK? Most universities in the UK hold graduations between June and September on the year you graduate from university. However, there are many exceptions to this, and some even hold them up to a year later.
Degree Congregations take place in our historic Senate-House, where members of the University have graduated since the Eighteenth Century. Accordingly, although we hold repeated ceremonies across each day, each one can only hold so many people.
Find out when graduation ceremonies will take place, how to book tickets, gown hire and photography as well as venue information and what to expect on the day. You can also find information about receiving your certificate and requesting transcripts.
Please be aware that guests and graduates are sat separately. Guest tickets are £35, and information on how to book guest tickets will be communicated once the Graduation portal opens. You can also book a private box for up to four guests.

Booking your Degree Ceremony. University of Oxford degrees are conferred at degree ceremonies, held in the Sheldonian Theatre. You may graduate in person or in absence, either straight after you've finished your degree, or many years later.
