Woolsthorpe-by-Colsterworth (to distinguish it from Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir in the same county) is a hamlet in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is best known as the birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton.
Located at Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth (not Woolsthorpe by Belvoir), Woolsthorpe Manor is signposted from the A1. From Melton Mowbray, take B676 towards Colsterworth; 1 mile after Stainby, turn left onto Old Post Lane, then left onto Water Lane.
Isaac Newton's Woolsthorpe Manor would be well worth visiting if it was simply an old house in almost original condition, set in beautiful rolling English countryside. But the way in which the National Trust honours Newton's life and achievements there is brilliant.

Woolsthorpe Manor is where Isaac Newton saw an apple fall from a tree, experimented with refracted light, and tried to solve the system of the universe - all before he was 24 years old. Since his death it's been a place of pilgrimage for scientists from around the globe.
Woolsthorpe Manor is located on the Newton Trail with designated routes linking to surrounding attractions and areas. Enjoy a walk to St. John the Baptist Church - one of the oldest in Lincolnshire and where Newton was baptised.
