Takehara (竹原市, Takehara-shi) is a city located in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. As of 30 April 2023, the city had an estimated population of 23,350 in 12034 households and a population density of 200 persons per km 2. [1] The total area of the city is 118.23 square kilometres (45.65 sq mi).
Located on the side of the hill behind the historic district, Fumeikaku at Saihoji Temple is a popular sightseeing spot. From its platform there is an amazing view of Takehara. The stone staircase leading to the temple is often used as a location for shooting movies.
