Aug 26, 2023 · Swallow Falls is a 42m high waterfall just outside the village of Betws-Y-Coed in Snowdonia. It’s a multiple waterfall system with two main drops, both of which can be seen from the visitor centre or via the Swallow Falls Trail.
Swallow Falls is located on the River Llugwy, which flows through a steep-sided valley carved out by glaciers during the last Ice Age. The riverbed is made up of hard, volcanic rock known as rhyolite, which is resistant to erosion, creating a series of cascades and waterfalls.
The Swallow Falls are well worth a visit whilst in Betws-y-Coed. They are impressive and I enjoyed watching the powerful full force of the falls. They do charge £2 to enter and all there is is to see the falls.

Jan 1, 2024 · Where is Swallow Falls in Wales & how to get there. Swallow Falls is located on the A5 Betws road to Capel Curig in Snowdonia National Park in the North of Wales. It’s located just 2 miles from the popular tourist hub of Betws-y-Coed so it makes a fantastic addition to any visit.
