Jul 10, 2019 · Spearheaded by Colorinc with support from the Singapore Tourism Board, the project has transformed the dingy back alleyways into a charming outdoor art gallery, with delicate art pieces adorning two walls.
So beautiful that they are now Singapore’s very first outdoor gallery — Gelam Gallery, which is testament to this artistic diversity. Gelam Gallery, which features stunning imagery and paintings done by art professionals as well as graduates from local art educational institutions, is located in the back alleys of the streets of Kampong Glam.
This is the first outdoor art gallery opened in July 2019. It is situated along 2 backlanes on either side the pedestrianised Bussorah Street. It uses the walls at the back of the shophouses as canvases. Even the new dustbins and renovated drain covers are painted in bright colours.
