Shepperton Studios is a film studio located in Shepperton, Surrey, England, with a history dating back to 1931. It is now part of the Pinewood Studios Group. During its early existence, the studio was branded as Sound City (not to be confused with the Californian recording studio of the same name).
The studio is located close to Heathrow airport and 18 miles from central London. Built around an exquisite manor house, its 14 stages, 10 acres of backlot and thousands of square feet of workshop space, continue to attract the most inspirational content creators.

Mar 20, 2024 · The expansion at Shepperton Studios in Surrey is now open and Amazon MGM Studios and Netflix are in occupation. The state-of-the-art development will add to Shepperton’s world-class amenities and provide an additional 17 sound stages, 548,000 sq ft of production and workshop spaces as well as two backlots.
Shepperton Studios. This studio complex in leafy London suburb Shepperton is now part of the Pinewood Studios Group (along with Pinewood Studios and Teddington Studios). In common with many studios, the former expansive backlot was sold off to raise revenue.

Shepperton currently (2024) has 31 stages, making it the second largest studio in the world. However, it began many years ago – like several UK film studios – growing up around a grand house and estate.
