Apr 13, 2015 · During our short stay in Fiji we took a tour out to Modriki Island (also called Monuriki Island), the filming site for the movie “Cast Away.” Modriki Island is located in the Mamanuca Island group, located just off the main island of Fiji.
The island was a film location for the movie Castaway staring Tom Hanks and you can tell why they picked the island as it is gorgeous and has everything, mountain, cave and a mesmerizing beach. We were told the island was mostly left as found and the impact was minimized as best as they could.
