  3. The Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) is the combined volunteer-military youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Air Force, which is formed by both the Air Training Corps and RAF Sections of the Combined Cadet Force. [3]

  4. HQ RAF Air Cadets manages both the community-based Air Training Corps (ATC) and the school-based Combined Cadet Force (RAF). Within the ATC there are six regional HQs, 34 wing HQs and 921 squadrons throughout the UK and at five locations overseas.

  5. Jul 24, 2019 · HQ Air Cadets based at RAF Cranwell. The National Headquarters and administrative centre for the Air Cadet Organization in the UK based at Royal Air Force College Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

  6. HQ RAFAC controls two National Air Cadet Adventure Training Centres (NACATC): at Fairbourne, Gwynedd, Wales; and Windermere, Cumbria, England. These NACATCs provide a range of adventure training courses and accommodation for squadron and wing expeditions.

  7. Previously known as Commandant ATC, the appointment is now held by an RAF Air Commodore and is based at Headquarters Air Cadets (HQAC) at RAF Cranwell. Prior to the establishment of HQAC as an independent unit, the post of Commandant ATC was held by the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Reserve, Home and finally Flying Training Command.
