Maria Cristina Falls is a waterfall of the Agus River in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines. It is sometimes called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfall. [1] The name come from the Spanish queen, Maria Christina of Austria.
The local government has listed 24 waterfalls in Iligan, and the most prominent of all is the Maria Cristina Falls. Aside from its natural beauty, this 320-foot-high waterfall provides a part of the electricity supply of Mindanao through the Agus VI Hydroelectric Plant.
Known as "the twin falls," Maria Cristina Falls has always been an attraction to locals and tourist alike. Located in Iligan City in the Mindanao region of the Philippines, the falls has been the source of the province hydroelectric, 70% of it is generated from the falls that is 320 feet high.
