- Goathland Station. Goathland station is one of the most iconic filming locations in Goathland. It was the setting for Aidensfield train station in “Heartbeat” and Hogsmeade Station in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Feb 11, 2023 · Driving: The best way to get to the village and to independently explore is coming by car. It’s around 40 miles (1 hour) from York, 10 miles (20 mins) from Whitby and 25 miles (40 mins) from Scarborough. There’s a large car park in the village but if that is full there’s another one just next to it.
The series is set in the North Riding of Yorkshire during the 1960s, with plots centred on the fictional locations of Aidensfield and Ashfordly. It stars Nick Berry (S1–7), Jason Durr (S7–12), Jonathan Kerrigan (S13–16) and Joe McFadden (S17–18)
Although most of Heartbeat is filmed in North Yorkshire, where the storyline requires an old-fashioned market town Otley was the choice for filming. Here the cobbled Market Place and lovely old buildings were the perfect setting for the time in which the series was set.
