Dec 16, 2022 · Laura is currently married to the Labour Party MP Jeremy Corbyn. Laura’s relationship with Corbyn didn’t start off romantically. She had flown to London in 1999 in search of her abducted niece Jasmin and was introduced to Jeremy by her sister Marcela.
Laura Alvarez flew from Mexico to London to support her sister and met Jeremy Corbyn at a fund-raiser in the Finsbury Park community hub. After they met, she went back to Mexico City for her law studies. However, they decided to stay connected, and they kept up a long-distance relationship for years.

- She is Corbyn's third wife. The couple met in 1999, after Alvarez flew over from her native Mexico to help in the search for her abducted niece. Her older sister Marcela's estranged husband had fled the UK four years earlier with their daughter, after a custody battle.
