The series follows Junta Shiraishi, who has no presence, which causes him to be overlooked by almost everyone. However, his classmate Nagisa Kubo has no problem finding him, and declares herself his heroine. Throughout the series, Nagisa plays with Junta to try and get her feelings through to him.
The next day Shiraishi is late to school but he meets Kubo in the hallway now with her own fever, so he helps her to the infirmary where she holds his hand until she falls asleep. Shiraishi realises for the first time he actually feels like the main character in his own life story.

There he asks himself why is Kubo using him for her games. In fact, he feels that she is probably just toying with him.
