Hilgenbrink portrayed two roles which had originally been portrayed by James Marsden in other films, in Epic Movie (2007) (portraying Cyclops) and in Disaster Movie (2008) (portraying Prince). He attended Millikin University, pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre.
