Paul Mark Oakenfold (born 30 August 1963), [3] formerly known mononymously as Oakenfold, is an English record producer, remixer and trance DJ. He has provided over 100 remixes for over 100 artists including U2 , Moby , Madonna , Britney Spears , Massive Attack , the Cure , New Order , the Rolling Stones , the Stone Roses and Michael Jackson .
A relentless schedule that emphasises Oakenfold’s growing global status. All this began in the late-Seventies when a very young Paul Oakenfold, together with his friend Trevor Fung, cut their musical teeth by mixing soul and rare-groove at a basement bar in London’s Covent Garden.
Growing up in South London, Oakenfold began his career as a crate-digging rare groove DJ in Covent Garden at the same time as A&Ring at trendsetting labels Champion and Def Jam, where he worked on releases from the likes of Public Enemy, Salt ‘n Pepa and the Beastie Boys.
