Dec 4, 2023 · I am using Mac Mail 12.4 on a 2013 iMac with Mojave. When I go to the MAIL folder, I cannot see any folders or files for each of the folders I created. I as told that there are EMLX files someplace that store email by folders. I cannot see this anywhere.

If your email account exceeds the storage limits set by the account’s provider, you can take some actions in Mail to free up space on the account’s mail servers. Go to the Mail app on your Mac. Delete large messages or messages with attachments, or move the messages to a mailbox on your Mac.
Jun 9, 2023 · I have a few "on my mac" storage folders for archived email, but I can't find where they're stored on my Mac. Older answers to this query point to Go/Library/Mail, but in there I find only older V4 Mailboxes (current V16); and in any case, only .plist files.

Aug 4, 2021 · Posted on Aug 4, 2021 4:27 PM. The files are stored in ~/Library/Mail/V7/ in a subfolder with a unique ID for the name. You can open each and see which "account" that folder holds. Sometimes you can tell from the subfolder names, but otherwise you might need to dig inside each and see what messages are in there.
Dec 24, 2020 · There are several ways to find archived emails on your Mac if you need them. When you archive an email in macOS, the Mail app creates an Archived folder in your email account. Every other email you choose to archive from that account also goes into this folder.
Archive emails in Mail on Mac. If you don’t have time to read or take action on an email message when you receive it, you can archive it. Archived messages are stored in an Archive mailbox so you can quickly find them later.
