There was a big controversy surrounding the quality of the DOOM Eternal Soundtrack. The composer, Mick Gordon, only mixed 12 out of the 59 tracks in the DOOM Eternal soundtrack, and as a result, there was varying quality in the OST release, with the remainder of the tracks having less dynamic range than Mick’s mixes.
ingame music is fine, 99% of music in gaming are highy compressed and sacrifice some dynamic range in order to mantain focus on gameplay, also there are not entire songs in doom, just lots of short sound files dynamically played during gameplay, all highly compressed just like in the first game (doom 2016).
The resulting sight is a convoluted mess composed of music from: DOOM Eternal, DOOM 2016, Classic Doom games, Music from other Artists (Andrew Hulshult, Chris Vrenna). We have to fish out all the relevant samples ourselves. I recommend literally anything other than Windows Media Player or iTunes to play OGG files.
Mar 30, 2020 · Idk why it's taken so long for them to release the ost. It's perhaps the only ost I've ever wanted in my life. While waiting is there a way to just listen to the audio tracks by accessing them in the game files and playing them through.....idk something like VLC? I shouldn't have to say it but this is referring to playing specific tracks OUTSIDE of the game itself.
Mar 8, 2022 · In its seventh map, I decided to use a MIDI of Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major, BWV 1048 as the background music, in homage to The Sky May Be. I recorded gameplay of BoomHor, and uploaded it to my YouTube channel. The video I played MAP07 of BoomHor in got copyright claimed.
