Feb 15, 2012 · The Bourbon Capital of the World. You’ll drive right through Bardstown when you go to visit Heaven Hill, Thomas Moore, Independent Stave Cooperage, or Maker’s Mark, so you might as well stop off and get some great bourbons you can only find here in the Bourbon Capital of the World.
- Very Old Barton 90 Proof. We’ve written about Very Old Barton before, and we’ll continue to stick to our guns: it’s one of the best values on the market, when you can find.
- Heaven Hill 6 Year Old Bottled in Bond. A 6-year-old bourbon for less than $20 just would not stay on shelves anywhere else but Kentucky, so Heaven Hill doesn’t bother shipping it outside of the Commonwealth.
- Old Fitzgerald Bottled in Bond. Old Fitzgerald is the bourbon world’s foster kid: a brand knocked around through a dozen parent companies, and most recently settling in with Heaven Hill in 1992.
- Old Grand-Dad 114. When Old Grand-Dad 114 supplies ran low last year and rumors circulated that it might be discontinued entirely, there was panic about this bottle in particular.
