Jul 20, 2010 · Rosati is the 3rd most southerly winery in Mendocino, located not far from Geyserville, and the property is spectacularly beautiful. The Russian River runs right by the property and Comisky Creek actually runs through it. Deer, turkey and wild boar are hunted there.
Great wine begins in the vineyard. Our original bud wood was a gift in 1987 from Dave Bennion, a co-founder of Ridge Vineyards. Dave selected vines from Jimsomare Vineyard and planted those cuttings at 1,000 feet above the Russian River at our ranch in southern Mendocino County.
The Rosati Cabernet Sauvignon wines trace their origins to one of California's most illustrious vineyards, Ridge Vineyards. In 1987, Ridge Vineyard’s co-founder, Dave Bennion, took cuttings from the premier vineyard at Jimsomare Ranch to the Rosati Ranch in Southern Mendocino County.
