    • X-Men No. 1 (1963) $807,300, June 2021. A bit of a battle broke out for this near-mint 9.6-grade copy of the original X-Men comic book, which attracted more than 40 bids on Comic Connect.
    • Fantastic Four No. 1 (1961) $1.5 million, April 2022. This Silver Age comic brought the world its titular superhero team the Fantastic Four, made up of Mister Fantastic, Invisible Girl, the Human Torch, and the Thing.
    • All Star Comics No. 8 (1942) $1.6 million, June 2022, Heritage. Male superheroes unsurprisingly dominate the list of most-expensive comics. The exception is this book featuring the first appearance of Wonder Woman in an eight-page story, a copy of which with an impressive 9.4-grade set a record auction price for the title.
    • Detective Comics No. 27 (1939) $1.74 million, May 2022. When it comes to Golden Age Comics, there are two contenders for the most significant issue ever released—Superman’s introduction in Action Comics No. 1, and this historic comic where the world first met Bruce Wayne—better known as Batman.
