is the seventh studio album by American rapper Nas, released as a double album by Columbia Records. Originally scheduled for a September 14, 2004 release, the album was ultimately released on November 30, 2004. Named after one of his lyrics from "Live at the Barbeque" by Main Source, the album's cover art was digitally created using photos of Nas to create an adaptation of The Last Supper. The album marked the end of Nas' tenure with Columbia Records after ten years.

was well received by critics and debuted at number 5 on the US Billboard 200, selling over 232,000 copies in its first week of sales. It was Nas's seventh consecutive platinum record in the United States, having shipped over 1 million copies in two weeks of release.

is a juxtaposition of the two aspects of Nas' personality that have been warring for years: his focus, and his pompousness. With the multi-character storytelling of "Sekou Story" and the father-son blues of "Bridging the Gap," Nas proves he's determined to push his music forward. At the same time, Street's Disciple is lined with references to class...

Jason Birchmeier of AllMusic praised, "an indulgent album that sprawls across two discs, freewheeling through a dizzying array of ace productions and thoughtful raps." Matt Barone from AllHipHop agreed of Nas staying in top form, adding, that "Nas stays true to himself," instead of appealing to the mainstream scene. HipHopDX believed the second disc to not be of great quality, opining its production to be inconsistent. In contrast, Peter Hepburn of Cokemachineglow called the second half "the real keeper," though felt the album should've been condensed to one disc, "As is it's a solid, if not brilliant album from an artist we've come to not expect too much from."

's Neil Drumming called it "ambitious" and found the production to hold nostalgia with its samples and guest features. NME gave an enthusiastic assessment of Street's Disciple, naming it to be "one of the most exciting hip-hop releases not only of this year, but in recent memory." Stylus Magazine wrote, "For the most part, however, Street's Disciple confirms that Nas remains a dazzling and singularly talented rapper. What differentiates this album is not the production, or Nas' prodigal skills, or even his position as a "streets disciple." This is Nas' most personal-sounding work—and as a result, it is one of his most exceptional."
