By the early 1600s, Abbey House was part of a large portfolio of property in the town known as the Manor of Malmesbury. The lordship of the Manor, and the ownership of Abbey House, belonged in the early seventeenth century to the Danvers family who were well known both locally and nationally.

Jun 20, 2022 · The house dates from the 16th century, built on 13th-century foundations. In November 2021, Kim and Whit Hanks, founders of Whim Hospitality, Camp Lucy and Tillie’s Restaurant in Dripping Springs, Texas, bought the house and gardens, following their purchase of in April 2021.
Abbey House Gardens is a country house garden in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England, covering 5 acres (2.0 ha). The garden was transformed in the 1990s by the so-called Naked Gardeners: Ian and Barbara Pollard.
The main house dates from the 1500s, it was built on 13th-century foundations. However, there are records of buildings on the site as early as the 11th century. But the house's history stretches back even further.

Abbey House Museum is situated in the village of Kirkstall in Leeds on the A65, and there is a large free carpark next to the museum on Abbey Walk. The nearest train stations are Kirkstall Forge and Headingley, both 1 mile away, while the 33, 34 and 757 buses all stop outside of Kirkstall Abbey, a short walk to the museum.
