is the sophomore studio album by American singer Ava Max. It was released on January 27, 2023, through Atlantic Records.
In an interview, Max said that she is on a five-year album plan, wanting to release a new album every year. On December 5, 2020, Max posted a tweet saying "2021. That’s it." which could have hinted to a deluxe edition of her debut studio album, Heaven & Hell, the release of her sophomore studio album, or both.
In an interview, Max stated the Heaven & Hell era was done and that she had another body of work, which was a "new phase".
On February 12, 2022, she cut off her "Max Cut" and dyed her hair red. She posted a video with the caption “(D)(D)”, from which rumors sparked her next album will be named Diamonds & Dancefloors.
On March 2, 2022, she confirmed "Maybe You're the Problem" will be the lead single. She also stated this album is her most personal album to date. "Maybe You're the Problem" was officially released as the lead single from the album on April 28th, 2022.
On June 1, 2022, she revealed the album name, Diamonds & Dancefloors, and the cover art, first on social media, then on the Today Show.
On September 1, 2022, she released the album's second single, "Million Dollar Baby". The same day, it was announced the album had been postponed from its original release date October 14, 2022, to the later date of January 27, 2023. On the same day, seven tracks on the album leaked in retaliation to the delay.
The album was allegedly originally titled "Woman's World" and scheduled for a 2021/2022 release. It was recorded during the first half of 2021. Max had also changed her Instagram bio and posted that "It's a woman's world" after the release of "My Head & My Heart". Max stated that the album was "anthemic", "strong", and contained "a lot of female empowerment [and] what [she] went through during the pandemic". This speculated version of the album was shelved due a series of breakups. Below are possible tracks on the album.
•"Dancing Feet Don't Cry"
•"Emotions"
•"Everytime I Cry"
•"Stop The Talking"
•Unknown Charli XCX Collaboration
Max announced the European leg of "On Tour (Finally)" in support of the album on February 22, 2023. The United States leg was announced on April 3, 2023. It started on April 14, 2023 and ended on September 9, 2023.
"Maybe You're the Problem" was released on April 28, 2022 as the lead single of Diamonds & Dancefloors.
"Million Dollar Baby" was released on September 1, 2022 as the album's second single.
"Weapons" was released on November 10, 2022 as the album's third single.
"Dancing's Done" was released on January 6, 2023 as the album's fourth single.
"One of Us" was released on April 14, 2023 as the album's fifth single.
"Ghost" was released on May 12, 2023 as the album's sixth single from remix by Italian DJ-group Merk & Kremont.
