Michael Gerald Tyson, also known as Iron Mike, was an American boxer who became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at age 20. He was trained by Bobby Stewart and Cus D'Amato.
A member of street gangs at a young age, he was sent to reform school where he discovered his boxing potential. He compiled a 24-3 record as an amateur and turned professional in 1985 with D'Amato teaching him a peekaboo style that made his defense almost impenetrable.
In 1986, he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history after defeating Trevor Berbick and later acquired two more championship belts from James Smith and Tony Tucker.
