Today, Emerson House continues the long tradition of helping children aged 6-11 who need extra help with literacy and mathematics using our research and experience based programmes. Our teachers are trained specialists with extensive experience in teaching children with dyslexia, dyscalculia and dyspraxia (developmental coordination disorder).
The Emerson House approach to teaching math to children with Special Educational Needs is to teach in a highly structured, cumulative, and multi-sensory way, using reason-based methodologies. The children use physical materials which are organized into simple cognitive tools and are actively integrated in the learning experience.
