Jan 23, 2024 · Dam Square is Amsterdam’s most important square. It is located in the heart of the city close to Amsterdam Central station, a 5-10 minute walk down Damrak. The majority of visitors to Amsterdam are likely go through Dam Square at some point.
Dam Square and Dam Palace lie in the heart of Amsterdam, at the original location of the dam in the Amstel River. It is a large, bustling square where people gather, and there are numerous shops and cafes that line the square. There is also a National Monument an important memorial to World War II.
