Margarita "Maggie" Emilia Vera is the daughter of Dexter Vaughn and Marisol Vera, and is the adopted daughter of Ray Vera. She was the youngest sister of the Vera-Vaughn-Danso sisterhood of the Charmed Ones, meaning it was her duty to protect innocents and occasionally save the world. This makes her the younger sister of the late Macy Vaughn and the younger maternal half-sister of Melanie Vera. She is the ex-girlfriend of Parker Caine and Brian. She and Parker were briefly engaged, but Maggie broke it off shortly after. She is close friends with the Whitelighter of all of the Charmed Ones, Harry Greenwood, Jordan Chase and was friends with Lucy. Maggie was a student at Hilltowne University where she had decided to major in psychology and participated in a number of extracurriculars such as the Hilltones, the black student union, and was a pledge of Kappa Tau Kappa sorority before forcefully being moved to Seattle, Washington and placed into hiding. There, she got a job at SafeSpace, Seattle as a part-time receptionist before becoming an assistant manager. She is currently a student at Seattle State College, and she is majoring in psychology.

Maggie is a witch with heightened abilities due to her being a Charmed One. Along with her basic witch abilities (casting spells and brewing potions), Maggie was also an empath meaning she was able to sense the emotions of others and read minds due to her role as a Sister of Emotion. This power had expanded to allow her to turn her emotions into fields of raw energy and hear the thoughts of trapped spirits. However, Maggie had her powers rendered dormant when her aura was stripped for her own protection. Through the use of black amber, Maggie gained the ability to foresee future events, and later, her powers expanded to allow her to project her emotions onto other people and to temporarily mimic the powers of those she empathically understands. Furthermore, she can also access The Power of Three, the collective power of the Charmed Ones, allowing them to vanquish the most powerful of demons. Aside from these powers, Maggie possessed a magical staff that helped her to better channel her emotions into offensive attacks, but with the loss of her empathic powers, the fate of this staff is unknown.

    Early life

Maggie was born to Marisol Vera and Dexter Vaughn, but was lead to believe that her half-sister's father, Ray, was her biological father instead. She was born seven years after Mel and ten years after Macy. Sometime after her birth, her mother would go on to bind her powers, allowing her to live a normal life just like her sisters. When she was five years old, Ray walked out on Marisol just after Maggie's birthday and has barely been in contact with her or Mel since. In third grade, Maggie made her mom the gift, having no idea that it was a bong. Sophomore year Maggie borrowed Mel's favorite crop top, and then she accidentally ripped it and threw it out. In high school, Maggie dated a boy named Brian, but at some point, Maggie broke up with him due to her not being able to see a future with him. Around this time, she would enroll at Hilltowne University and would rush the sorority, Kappa Tau Kappa.

    • Spell Casting: The power to cast spells and perform rituals.

•Psychometry: When Maggie incants the words "Ostende historiam tuam mihi," she casts a spell that allows an empath to see a past event by touching an object.

•Potion Making: The power to brew and concoct potions, remedies, and elixirs that have supernatural properties.

•Skilled Combatant: Maggie has displayed some athletic ability attributable to her apparent practicing of Pilates in lieu with her sorority membership training, kicking a demonically possessed Brian off herself, and she later assisted Mel in physical combat against Charity. Later, whilst under the influence of Viralis' blood and hypnotized to kill anyone who enters his barn, Maggie, in a manic and near-feral state, proved formidable enough to come close in defeating Mel at hand-to-hand combat. Using the Empathic Staff that her mother left her, she had an intense one-on-one with Hunter Caine and managed to vanquish him, but not before he killed Elder Silver. Under the tutelage of Jordan Chase, Maggie's combat skills have greatly improved; a sparring match between herself and Mel clearly showed Maggie maintaining the upper hand over her older sister, culminating in her knocking Mel down.

•Singing: Maggie has a love for singing and even has dreams of her winning the Voice. Her singing is described as being able to pull audiences in which made her the perfect addition to The Maestro who wanted to turn the Hilltones into sirens.

•Mortality: Despite being a witch, Maggie is still mortal and still has many of the same weaknesses as nonmagical humans (e.g. age, decapitation, disease, heart-failure, suffocation, snapped neck, etc.).

•Panic Attacks: In Don't Look Back in Anger, it was revealed Maggie suffers from panic attacks, which make her very dizzy and, in some cases, faint

•Empathic Staff: Marisol left Maggie a staff which allows her to focus her ability to manipulate emotional energy when she needs it most. This staff can also be separated into escrima sticks. With the staff, she is able to project herself onto a empathic astral plane to communicate with others. She stopped using it after The Source Awakens.

•Expandable Baton/Staff: In Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle, Maggie has begun carrying a small retractable baton. As an impact tool, it can be used to strike, jab and block and to aid arm locks. She also started using a spell to turn her baton into a spear. Her baton was able to expand into a staff as shown in "Cats and Camels and Elephants, oh my..." when she fought Sunny in order to stop the Lost One from resurrecting.

    Family

•Maggie and Marisol Vera: Maggie and Marisol had a close mother/daughter relationship but not as close as Marisol and Mel's (Maggie did not tell her mother everything like Mel did). •Maggie and Mel Vera: Maggie was close to Mel but the two had issues with each other when their mother passed. Maggie believed Mel blamed her for not reaching their mother in time and decided to focus her attention on rushing Kappa in order to get out of the house. The two were able to reconcile their differences after Mel assured her that she didn't blame her. •Maggie and Macy Vaughn: Maggie accepted Macy as her sister very quickly and felt an immediate bond to her. She wanted Macy to feel like a part of the family, assuring her sister that their mother must have had a good reason for letting her go. Later on, Macy reveals to Maggie that they're full sisters while Mel is the real half-sister. Maggie's youthful exuberance and love for her sister is probably most felt in her playful meddling in her Macy's love life. First she pushed her sister into pursuing a relationship with Galvin and asked her to open up about why she was scared of being intimate. After Macy heals from losing Galvin and starts to develop feelings for Harry, Maggie once again is there to give encouragement and remind her that feelings are not a liability. •Maggie and Dexter Vaughn: Dexter and Marisol conceived her during New Years Eve 2000. Dexter knew about Maggie being his biological daughter but never met her. •Maggie and Ray Vera: She thought he was her biological father all her life. After Maggie's 5th birthday, Ray walked out on Marisol and the daughters. He kept in touch with Maggie barely and wasn't able to show up for Christmas 2018. Later, it was revealed that Ray always knew that Maggie is not his biological daughter, but he continued to love and protect her.

    Romantic Life

•Maggie and Jordan Chase: They first met when Maggie and her sisters fled to Seattle. Gradually Maggie and Jordan started getting to know each other better and became close friends. Jordan was always ready to come to her rescue, and Maggie in turn tried to save him from his curse. In Curse Words, when Jordan found out Maggie is a witch, he accepted her for what she is. Now there are no secrets between them and they are together looking for a way to finally break the curse from his family. In Dance Like No One is Witching, it is hinted that Maggie begins to have romantic feelings for Jordan when she feels timid awkwardness about touching him and sitting too close to him in Vera Manor. Sometime after Macy died, they began dating and worked as partners in hunting demons. •Maggie and Parker Caine: Parker is Maggie's ex-fiance. They were attracted to each other when they first met and had immediate chemistry. For many months, their relationship went through the highs and lows, but eventually, in "The Rules of Engagement," Parker succumbed to the temptation of his demonic side and Maggie decided that their relationship should be ended when she ran away from him from their wedding. Maggie thought Parker was dead, but she quickly began to cope with the loss, because she believes that if they continued to be together, his demonic side would still always stand between them. Later, Maggie found out that Parker was alive, but she was not happy with the news and continued to be very angry at him for the bad things he had done to her. In "The Enemy of My Frenemy," Maggie says that she does not want to return their relationship and even though he is now a mortal, it does not change anything between them. Parker agrees to her wishes and leaves her life. •Maggie and Brian: Maggie and Brian dated in high school, but Maggie broke up with him because she couldn't see herself being with him in the long run. They remained on friendly, flirtatious terms after their break-up. After becoming a witch and finding her new power stressing her out, Maggie attempts to make herself feel better by hooking up with Brian but continued to hear his thoughts. In the end, she permanently ended her relationship with Brian. •Maggie and Antonio Garcia: Maggie first met Antonio in psychology class at Seattle State College. Initially gotten off on the wrong foot, Maggie and Antonio made peace after admitting that she felt insecure around him, to which he replied that she made him feel insecure as well. Despite this, Maggie tried to avoid him after having a vision of them in bed, which confused her for a time. Antonio tried to ask her out, but she turned him down due to her feelings for Jordan. She also admitted there was chemistry between herself and Antonio, but didn't want to be with someone who constantly made her feel unsafe.

•Maggie and Kaela Danso: Maggie is friendly toward Kaela, but is yet to see her as a sister due to her fear of repeating the tragic cycle of the Charmed Ones. •Maggie and Harry Greenwood: Harry is Maggie's caring Whitelighter, who is always ready to come to her rescue. •Maggie and Lucy: After many troubles, they became good friends, but their relationship ended when Maggie and her sisters faked their deaths and fled to Seattle. At the moment, Lucy believes Maggie's dead and it is possible that with her filing, Kappa Tau Kappa released a Instagram post in loving memory of Maggie.

    Studies

•Hilltowne University: This is Maggie's first university where she enrolled right after highschool. During her early beginnings at school, she lost her mother, so she formed stronger bonds with members of the Kappa Tau Kappa sorority, especially Lucy. She even wanted to move to the sorority house, but she changed her decision after she learned about her new sister Macy. However, Maggie was not sure that she belonged at the school because she felt that her sisters were much smarter than her. She wanted to leave and devote herself fully to her craft. In the end, however, she stayed and continued studying psychology. She also wanted to apply for a scholarship, and after finding out that Dexter Vaughn was her biological father, she realized that she was eligible for a scholarship for black students. However, she decided not to apply for it, as it was not right according to her. •Seattle State College: Maggie enrolled here a year and half after she had to leave her home town and also university there. At this school, Maggie again has psychology major. Despite the initial problems with Dr. Lawrence and her classmate Antonio Garcia, she was able to prove herself. She also got an internship there, but that was a consequence of an Enchanted Egg so she never actually took that opportunity. This is the current place where Maggie is studying for the second year.

•Silvio Trattoria: Maggie worked as a waitress here for 6 weeks and she was usually working night shifts. Maggie decided to take a part-time job as a receptionist in SafeSpace. It is not known what her entire job was, but one of her tasks was to serve snacks in her workplace. •Assistant Manager: After Mel and Macy took a large supply from the community center, the rules have changed and the orange keycards was only for management after that. So Maggie decided to get the assistant manager position despite only working there for a very short time. She found out that if she wants to get a full-time job here, she has to complete and submit background checks. Since she was pretending to be dead at the time, she had to get this job in a different way, so Abigael advised her to cast a mind-altering spell. So she convinced manager Zach to hire her. Her first task was the Good Karma Project where she helped Jordan to re-open his gym and she was also in charge of events at SafeSpace, so she organized, for example, a Karaoke Night. Maggie worked there for about a year before she left.
