The first two stages of this knock-out will be played as 4-game matches (plus a possible tie-break), with the final being played over the distance of 6 games.
The FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament 2022–23 was an eight-player chess tournament held to determine the challenger for the Women's World Chess Championship 2023. The first stage of the tournament, consisting of the quarterfinals and semifinals, was held from 24 October to 6 November 2022 in Monaco, and from 29 November to 11 December in Khiva .
Eight players shall qualify for the Women’s Candidates Tournament 2022 by the following criteria: 1 spot – FIDE World Championship Match 2020, Runner-up . GM Aleksandra Goryachkina. B. 2 spots – FIDE Grand Prix Series 2019-20. GM Humpy Koneru and GM Kateryna Lagno. C. 3 spots – FIDE World Cup 2021.
