The Lincoln Mark VIII is a grand touring luxury sport coupe that was marketed by Lincoln from the 1993 to 1998 model years. The first generation of the Mark series branded entirely as a Lincoln, the Mark VIII again served as a counterpart of the Ford Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar.
Serving as a successor to the Mark VII LSC, the slightly larger Mark VIII was a luxury-oriented grand touring coupe. While maintaining its rivalry against the Cadillac Eldorado, the Mark VIII was also developed as competition for coupes from European and Japanese automakers, including the Acura Legend and Lexus SC.
Jun 8, 2023 · Mark VIII was the first Mark available with dual front airbags, and had four-wheel disc brakes with ABS as standard (optional on Mark VII). The four-wheel independent suspension included a short-long arm design, as well as front and rear stabilizer bars.
