    • X-MEN 2: CLONE WARS (1995) Many “best of” X-Men video game lists mysteriously have this one missing from the top 10, but we refused to make that mistake.
    • X-MEN LEGENDS II: RISE OF APOCALYPSE (2005) X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse succeeded in taking everything from X-Men Legends, and making it better.
    • MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 2: NEW AGE OF HEROES (2000) Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is widely considered to be the crowning achievement of Marvel Vs. Capcom fighting games.
    • X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (2009) It isn’t very often that a video game based on a movie outshines the movie, but this is one of those cases. It didn’t help that the Wolverine Origins movie is considered pretty terrible, but X-Men Origins: Wolverine, defied all expectations.
    • 'X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse' Available on: PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PSP. Metacritic Metascore/User Score: N/A. As the apex of not just X-Men gaming but superhero action RPGs period, X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse handily trumps the middling Marvel: Ultimate Alliance trilogy.
    • 'X-Men Legends' Available on: PS2, Xbox, GameCube. Metacritic Metascore/User Score: N/A. X-Men Legends f inally realized the open-world action RPG potential of Marvel’s mutants with strong production values and an original storyline centered around new mutant recruit Alison Crestmere.
    • 'X-Men vs. Street Fighter' Available on: PS1, Sega Saturn, Arcade1Up. Metacritic Metascore/User Score: N/A. Though often overlooked today in favor of its more grandiose Marvel vs Capcom sequels, X-Men vs. Street Fighter deserves recognition for kicking off this comic book crossover clash in style back in 1996.
    • 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' Available on: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS. Metacritic Metascore: 75. Voiced by Hugh Jackman and riding high off the film's release, X-Men Origins: Wolverine finally unleashed everyone’s favorite mutant in satisfyingly savage hack ‘n slash fashion.
  2. May 21, 2024 · There are certainly some duds like The Uncanny X-Men on the NES from 1989, but by and large, the mutant team has been the star of some pretty important moments in Marvel’s interactive offerings ...

    • Men Legends II: Rise Of Apocalypse (Score: 84) X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is everything that a sequel should be. The previous X-Men Legends game impressed everyone with its story, creative art design, and a large roster of characters.
    • Men Legends (Score: 82) The X-Men Legends series is largely considered to be the peak for X-Men video games and it’s a height that may not be topped until the characters are drastically re-worked for a next-gen title.
    • Men Origins: Wolverine (Score: 77) It’s pretty ridiculous that X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is considered to be one of the worst X-Men movies of all time, actually has one of the highest-rated video game adaptations in the X-Men series.
    • Men: Mutant Academy (Score: 75) Curiously, it’s the original X-Men: Mutant Academy title that has the warmest reception of the three entries in the fighting franchise.
  3. 2003’s X-Men: Wolverine’s Revenge served as one reminder of how much potential Wolverine has as a video game protagonist. While ostensibly a tie-in to the movie X2: X-Men United, Wolverine’s ...

  5. Mar 10, 2017 · The Uncanny X-Men is a top-down action game where the player could choose two of an available six X-Men (Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Cyclops, Iceman and Nightcrawler). It was a dull slog of a game that featured boring gameplay and awkward controls. It also has an incredibly stupid central game mechanic.
