The beginnings of the Robert Simpson Society. The idea of a society to promote better knowledge and appreciation of the works of Robert Simpson had been in the minds of enthusiasts for several years, but RS himself was at first not in favour of the idea.

His pioneering and popular radio programme ‘The Innocent Ear’ ran for many years introducing the British public to music of lesser-known composers.
