Malayalees started to set up Malayali associations in the UK since the 1960s. Mostly this is by those Malayalis who migrated to the UK from Singapore and former British colonies.
The Malayali people (Malayalam: [mɐlɐjaːɭi]; also spelt Malayalee and sometimes known by the demonym Keralite) are a Dravidian ethnolinguistic group originating from the present-day state of Kerala in India, occupying its southwestern Malabar coast. They form the majority of the population in Kerala and Lakshadweep.

The association is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious one and basically work towards the betterment of the social lifestyle of Malayalee community in Salisbury and extends its support to neighbouring areas such as Amesbury, Fordingbridge, Durrington, Alderbury, Wilton and Porton.
