Synopsis. In outer space a large asteroid-like object floats above the planet Krull. It suddenly changes course and lands on the planet. From fissures in the rock pour out a vast army of strange and fearsome creatures called Slayers. They fan out and begin to terrorize villages and cities.
Plot. The film begins with a narrator describing how the world of Krull is being invaded by an interstellar entity known as the Beast and his army of Slayers, who travel the galaxy in a mountain-like spaceship called the Black Fortress. The narrator continues, recounting a prophecy: "that a girl of ancient name shall become queen.

When two great kingdoms are going to be joined by a marriage (necessitated by this invasion), the Beast's army, the Slayers, kidnap Princess Lyssa just before her wedding is completed, and Prince Colwyn goes on a quest to save her, aided by a wise old man, a gang of escaped prisoners and thieves, and an ancient sentient weapon.
