In 1965, a special act of the Ontario legislature established the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) to offer graduate programs, conduct research and disseminate its findings, and to engage in field development activities in education.
The Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) is part of the University of Toronto, located at 252 Bloor St. W. The building was designed by the architect Kenneth R. Cooper and was completed in 1970. The building still stands to this day, serving 3,300 graduate students and over 7,400 students in continuing education.
