  2. One piece is funnier, has more heart, and is the more compelling in story, world building and characters. Naruto has cool fighting styles and powers that make for awesome fights even though the plot isn’t the best. Naruto was amazing and on par with OP until the 4th ninja war, that's were it flopped hard imo.

Since a lot of the characters have mystical powers, they’re not always just fighting with swords or their fists. This makes for a lot of exciting and unique fight sequences. Plus, the characters' powers from the Devil Fruits are all incredibly unique, giving each battle sequence a totally different (and often goofy) feel. Luffy, for instance, can s...

Naruto, on the other hand, is a series about ninjas, so fighting is kind of the bread and butter of the series. Like in One Piece, the characters don't just fight with fists and punches in this series. Each of the characters has their own specialty in battle, usually jutsu, which are almost magical powers that ninja can use by concentrating their c...

One Piececan be a pretty goofy show, but it’s also really important that the series maintains a certain look, and the animation really serves its purpose here. Narutohas some of the most iconic music in anime. Opening and ending themes are some of the most memorable things about a lot of anime, and Naruto, as a long-running series, has a lot of themes to choose from. “Fighting Dreamers” by Flow is maybe the most well-known of the Narutoopening themes, but there are several that hold their own and make it ...

The world-building in One Pieceis really fun and complex, and it definitely creates a world that’s enjoyable for viewers to live in and experience. One Piecehas a lot of incredibly unique characters. In the Straw Hat Crew alone, there are a lot of different kinds of personalities, with each member of the crew out to accomplish something different, and everyone bringing their own skills to the table. They're all pretty goofy and fun, even those who have pretty dark backstories. The doctor of th...

The characters in Narutoare also incredibly diverse and bring a lot of different skills and background to the table. Where One Piece has funny, weird characters who get into crazy situations, Naruto's characters are younger, just 12 at the start of the series, and their issues, while made fantastic by the fact that they're ninjas, are also really r...

One Pieceis one of the longest-running manga series of all time, and it’s actually still going strong. The anime series, while currently on hiatus, has also been on air for more than 20 years, only just recently having gone on hiatus after 929 episodes. So there’s no shortage of new adventures to go on with Monkey D. Luffy and his crew. The fact th...

Naruto, on the other hand, is a complete story. While it is also an incredibly long-running anime, and actually split into a second anime following a time jump, Naruto Shippuden, the story is complete, so someone could watch the whole thing and actually get to an ending, with the satisfaction of knowing what happens to Naruto and his friends. • Naruto: Western Release and Appeal. As popular as One Piece may be and as dedicated as Oda may be, nothing stops bad marketing from wrecking its releases.
    • One Piece: Eiichiro Oda. If there was ever something to define a piece of art's artistic merit, it would be the love and dedication of its authors. Masashi Kishimoto is certainly a man in love with the industry who does well to compete in and celebrate the medium.
    • Naruto: Length. As much of a sales giant as One Piece is, one major roadblock it has for gaining new readers and viewers is its incredible and still growing length.
    • One Piece: Sales. A bit of a cheap shot for the most hardened fan, if there was ever a clear disparity between the popularity and perhaps acclaim of the two series, it's the huge gap between their manga sales.
