What is a Queen’s Nurse? Queen’s Nurses were the first nationally trained community nurses. The training developed over the years and most Queen’s Nurses who trained after WWII were already registered nurses, midwives and health visitors, before coming to do their Queen’s training, and to develop their skills in district nursing.
