With so much story to cover, it's almost assured that no two fans' list of best arcs will be exactly the same as another's. One Piece can range from heartbreaking to uplifting to outright horrific.

    • East Blue Saga. Romance Dawn Arc (Episodes 1-3) The ever-growing story of One Piece begins with the Romance Dawn Arc, which kickstarts the original East Blue Saga.
    • Arabasta Saga. Reverse Mountain Arc (Episodes 62-63) The arc that star of the Arabasta Saga is even shorter than the Romance Dawn Arc, being only two episodes long.
    • Sky Island Saga. Goat Island Arc (Episodes 136-138) *Filler* The Sky Island Saga begins with... another filler arc. This one sees Luffy and his crew meet a goat guy.
    • Water 7 Saga. Long Ring Long Land Arc (Episodes 207-219) The next saga begins with some of the Straw Hats most troublesome foes yet, the aptly named Foxy Pirates.

    • 3,858 VOTES. Marineford Arc. After Luffy fails to reach Ace before he's transferred to Marineford, he decides to head there in order to rescue his brother.
    • 3,795 VOTES. Enies Lobby Arc. Up until the Enies Lobby Arc, the Straw Hats had certainly been noticed by the World Government, but they rarely came into direct conflict with them.
    • 2,844 VOTES. Wano Country Arc. The Wano Arc has finally been completed in both the manga and the anime, and it's been nothing short of stunning.
    • 3,026 VOTES. Water 7 Arc. The Straw Hats land on a Venice-inspired island where they hope they'll be able to get their ship repaired.
    • Summit War Saga. The very best arc of One Piece should come as no surprise to longtime fans. The Summit War Saga serves as the climax of the first half of the series, beginning with a hopeless struggle against the Marines that ends in catastrophic defeat for Luffy and his crew, forcing them to separate.
    • Water 7 Saga. While I’m sure many fans will have nostalgia for Alabasta, Water 7 is something entirely different. It bucks a lot of the series’ expectations.
    • Alabasta Saga. Every Shonen series has that arc. The arc that defines a lot of the series and casual manga fans will bring up when describing some of the all-time classic manga arcs.
    • Dressrosa Saga. Dressrosa, in my opinion, is what you get when you have a more restrained Wano. In terms of structure, the first half of this saga is all about set-up and making sure we’re aware of who the central antagonist, Don Quixote Doflamingo, is and why he’s so despicable.
    • Alabasta. This arc is pure, unbridled One Piece, and still reigns as an encapsulation of what makes the series legendary.
    • Sabaody Archipelago. This arc is one of the most devastating out of any of the One Piece arcs, and it’s all the better for it.
    • Wano. The most recent of the One Piece arcs at the time of this list’s creation, Wano is easily one of the series’ most painstakingly-crafted cours.
    • Arlong Park. This is THE arc fans point to when they talk about the point where One Piece put itself on the map. Finally finding its groove in every aspect following the growing pains seen throughout the East Blue saga, this section of the story fires on all cylinders.
  2. Aug 7, 2024 · Even the worst One Piece arc is as good as your average shonen story, but the peaks are some of the best you’ll find in any story. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll love One Piece, and...
