- Our objective with the disconnection penalty is to discourage players from quitting games and serves the double purpose of denying immediate access to players who are already in a negative mental state from re-entering matchmaking until they’ve had a chance to cool down. Anything that results in you leaving the match will count as a disconnect.

Each time you disconnect from a match within the past 7 days, you get a stricter leaver penalty. This penalty always applies -1 pip, and starts at a 5 minute ban, then 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, and finally a repeating 72 hours.

What I'm not exactly sure on is the regression. Every 24 hours you go down a punishment "tier". So if you were at the 30 minute mark, and didn't d/c for a day, your next d/c would be back at 15 minutes. If you had gotten the hour time out, didn't d/c for a day, than your next one would be 30 minutes.
