- Wombat’s Hostel in London. I’m in London this time for a project with wombat’s hostels – and they’re based just on the edge of Whitechapel. The hostel itself is fantastic, with comfortable rooms and friendly staff.
- Whitechapel Gallery. Let’s start with one of the best things in the area – the Whitechapel Gallery. It was opened as a public gallery in 1901 and has been going strong ever since.
- Street art. Of course, Whitechapel has more art than just what’s on display in the gallery. The whole suburb has become an exhibition, with street art all throughout the area.
- Street food. As well as street art, you’re going to find street food in Whitechapel. Remember the immigrants in the East End I mentioned earlier? Well, those original newcomers have left their mark in this part of London and it’s one of the most multicultural areas you’ll find in the city.

May 10, 2023 · Whitechapel, East London, is a vibrant and diverse area with a rich history. It is home to many Jewish, Bangladeshi, and artist communities. The site is also home to several cultural institutions, such as the Whitechapel Gallery, and has a thriving nightlife scene.
Whitechapel is famously associated with the sinister tales of Jack the Ripper and the gangster history of the notorious Kray twins, yet today it’s a lively destination filled with historic landmarks, art galleries, bustling markets, and a diverse culinary scene.
