Sep 1, 2019 · High values of elastic modulus of MoSi 2-type C11 b structure are attributed to the pyramidal bonding state. Importantly, WSi 2 with C11 b, C49 and C54 structures show excellent electronic properties because of localized hybridization between W-5d state and Si-3p state at the Fermi level.

silicide (WSi 2) crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm (no. 139). Furthermore, the equilibrium WSi 2 tetrago-nal modification is characterized as the MoSi 2 structure type (Strukturbericht designation C11 b, and Pearson symbol tI6).[19–21] The MoSi 2 crystal structure is characteristic of the
We demonstrate the WSi 2 with C54 TiS 2 -type orthorhombic structure (Fddd, No.70) is a dynamically stable. These results show that MoSi2-type C11b tetragonal structure is more thermodynamically stable than that of the other structures.
