Tobermory (/ ˌ t oʊ b ər ˈ m ɔːr i /; Scottish Gaelic: Tobar Mhoire) [2] is the capital of, and until 1973 the only burgh on, the Isle of Mull in the Scottish Inner Hebrides. It is located on the east coast of Mishnish, the most northerly part of the island, near the northern entrance of the Sound of Mull .
Things to do in Tobermory are well catered for, and the town is the main habitation on the Isle of Mull. Tobermory has also the majority of the main facilities, although some of the activities and attractions are spread about the island.
- Walking along Tobermory Main Street. The main street of Tobermory is particularly well known for its colourful houses. It’s a very pretty place and you can easily walk alongside it.
- Visiting Tobermory Distillery Visitor Centre. Located at the very end of Tobermory Main Street, the distillery can be visited any day of the week. It’s open Monday to Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
- Walking to Tobermory lighthouse. There are quite a few walks starting in Tobermory but the one to the lighthouse is particularly pretty. You can park your car at the Ledaig parking, walk up the main street until you reach the ferry terminal.
- Visiting The Mull Museum. Located on the main street, the Mull Museum is the perfect place to visit in Tobermory if you want to learn more about the island.
