When is a regular work permit (TWV) required? Examples are: The foreign employee already has a Dutch residence permit, but has no, or limited, work authorization and wants to take up (more) work in the Netherlands, e.g., students. The foreign employee will come to the Netherlands for less than 3 months and wants to work during this time.
Having this residence permit means that you are allowed to work as a highly skilled migrant. In addition you are allowed to work as a self employed person. For all other work, your employer needs a TWV. Have you worked in the Netherlands for 5 years? Then you are free to work in the Netherlands. You do not need an TWV anymore.
