- Trabecular Bone Score, or TBS, is a computer software application that is installed on DXA machines. The program takes the DXA image of the lumbar spine (low back) and creates a greyscale pixel image of the vertebral trabecular bone microstructure. The resulting image provides an indirect measure of the trabecular microarchitecture.
