You don’t have to drink on an empty stomach as the Quinta de la Rosa has an on-site restaurant and you can have a wine tasting that is paired with food too. The best of both worlds if you ask me. Claire Feueheerd (married name Bergqvist), an English descendant of port shipper Dietrich Feuerheerd (originally from Hamburg, but moved to Portugal), was gifted the estate and vineyard for her baptism in 1906 and lived in the house for much of her life.
