Lisbon, Ohio, is a small village located in Columbiana County, in the northeastern part of the state. It's known for its historic charm, with many buildings dating back to the 19th century, reflecting its rich history as one of Ohio's oldest towns.
Lisbon, Ohio of Columbiana County was established by Baptist minister Lewis Kinney on February 16, 1803. It was named New Lisbon after Lisbon, Portugal. The name was changed on January 17, 1895 to drop the prefix “new.” This helped to establish the town as a modern staple in Ohio.
As the second oldest settlement in Ohio, Lisbon has a rich and storied history that is still evident in the historic buildings and residences throughout the village, and our beautiful downtown is the economic center of our community.
