Fable 2 is the best Fable game in terms of the overrall leveling, combat gameplay, and characters than the other games. The levels in 2 are a bit more open, but with nothing major to really fill in the extra room in the levels most of the time.
Fable 2 is one of my personal favorite games of all time and by far the best game in the series. It comes the closest to the original vision for the series, and has the best story. It really is worth playing.
The reason everyone wants Fable 2 is because it's unattainable. PC gamers have become cheap thanks to Steam and other marketplaces.
