Bad Boy Bubby is a 1993 psychological absurdist black comedy film [4] written and directed by Rolf de Heer, and starring Nicholas Hope, Claire Benito, Ralph Cotterill, and Carmel Johnson. Hope stars as the titular character, a mentally challenged man who has been held captive in his home by his abusive mother for his entire life.
Bubby has spent thirty years trapped in the same small room, tricked by his mother. One day, he manages to escape and, deranged and naive in equal measures, his adventure into a modern and nihilistic life begins.
