Adam, Nick and Jacob return to 2010 but Lou stays behind to fix his life. In the new timeline, Lou leaves a video for them explaining that things have changed. Nick is now a successful producer and Adam married April.
Lou elects to remain in 1986, while the remainder of the group returns home. Nick, Adam, and Jacob return to 2010, where they are greeted by a video message from Lou welcoming them back and informing them that many things have changed in their absence.
Lou leaves Kelly to find Blaine, whom he finally beats, and the four retrieve the energy drink and return to the hot tub where they create a vortex. Jacob and Nick enter the tub first, but Lou decides to stay in 1986, admitting to Adam that his carbon monoxide poisoning was indeed a suicide attempt.
However, while getting drunk in a hot tub, Lou spills some Chernobly (a type of Russian Red Bull) onto the hot tub controls, turning it into a time machine. The hot tub sends the four back to 1986, where Adam, Lou and Nick have regained their youth and replaced their 1986 selves.
Jacob (Lou's son) and Nick drag him to the hot tub time machine and activate it to travel back in time to find and stop the killer. When they awaken they find themselves ten years in the future, where Jacob is in charge of Lou's mansion.
