When Winston and Julia meet once more outside the Ministry of Truth, Julia states that the Party threatens people with their greates fears and then only way to get out if it is by pleading it to be done to their loved one, and not to themselves.
After Winston has been broken by the rats in Room 101 and has offered Julia up for torture in his place, the final chapter of the book follows Winston for an afternoon sometime following his release from the Ministry of Love.
Summary: Chapter IV. After some time, Winston is transferred to a more comfortable room and the torture eases. He dreams contently of Julia, his mother, and O’Brien in the Golden Country. He gains weight and is allowed to write on a small slate.
Room 101 comes into 1984 towards the end of the novel, during the climax. It’s there that Winston Smith is taken after he refuses to renounce his love for Julia or accepts the tenants of the Party. In the novel, he spends time there with O’Brien.
